Secreted Gaussia Luciferase
While our membrane-anchored Gaussia luciferase displays extracellularly, secreted Gaussia luciferase diffuses in the cell culture medium or within an animal model.

Secreted Gaussia luciferase is highly stable once secreted from the cell and well suited for single data point or kinetic Flash or Glow analysis of gene expression. Supernatant can be removed at multiple time points and assayed when convenient without disrupting cells for downstream applications, such as viability testing. It has also been shown to provide higher activity than firefly or Renilla luciferases in animal models utilizing imaging technologies and can be directly assayed from blood samples.
  • Highest activity of any characterized luciferase (up to 1,000 fold higher than firefly or Renilla luciferases) for unsurpassed sensitivity.
  • Secreted into cell culture medium or blood, so no cell lysis is required.
  • Highly stable enzyme, can be sampled multiple times from cell supernatants or blood for kinetic analysis of gene expression without disrupting cells for downstream applications, such as viability testing.
  • System of choice for in vivo blood assays.
Secreted Gaussia luciferase is available with both our standard reporter cells and may be custom ordeered with our endogenous reporter cells.
